For the goods carried by air cargo transportation, the carrier is responsible for the goods from the time the shipper hands them over to the carrier until the carrier hands them over to the consignee. This period is called the period of carrier responsibility. Damage or loss of goods due to improper loading, unloading, transportation, storage and delivery is called goods damage and goods shortage.
